Portal Sandbox weapons

Four names, four keys, zero numbers. T Portal Gun, X Mech Blaster, V Robo Arms, E Regenerate. That is the official combat vocabulary. Range, magazine size, heat, and upgrades are not in the description, and they are not in the pass texts either.

Skins are not a fourth weapon class

Rick Prime's Portal Gun (19 Oct 2026), Rick's Prototype (17 Oct), and Evil Morty's Portal Gun (12 Oct) are passes. Prime "grants you rick primes portal gun". Prototype grants "ricks original first portal gun". Evil Morty adds portal fluid and recolored UI buttons. I read those as looks and handling claims the author actually wrote. I do not add a damage column they skipped.

A community range note, kept small

portalsandboxwiki.wiki describes X as a ranged tool and V as melee. Only that page does. Older copy on portalsandbox.wiki still says Q is a knife and X is a laser pistol, which fights the current official names. Both community wordings can sit in a footnote. Neither becomes the header of this page. If you want a suggested practice order without fake DPS, use the tier list.

Regenerate belongs in this table because a fight that drops you uses E, and Insurance changes whether your items survive that drop. The money side of a kill is on money, sourced from the VIP sentence rather than from a weapon tooltip nobody has published.
